Using a loop pedal, I layer guitar, bass, percussion, harmonica and vocals into 3 sets of 70s guitar rock, blues and jam-band favorites as well as original face-melters. I can fit on a 5' X 7' stage and can operate at low volume if needed.
Tom usually performs solo as a one man band. I mentioned to him that I didn't think our group would enjoy that type of music. He mentioned that he occasionally performs with a friend, both singing and playing acoustic guitars so I asked if he could do that instead. They were both polite, courteous and arrived well ahead of time to set up. I thought they were great and I received a lot of compliments from people attending saying that they really enjoyed the music.
Response from Lunchtime Tom - One Man Jam Band:
Yoy're the best, Ron! Thanks so much from both of us. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Picture a small 5-foot by 7-foot stage. There ia a PA speaker on either side, and on stage: a mic, a small table with percussion instruments and harmonicas, a Fender Strat, a standup electric bass and various footpedals.
The music starts with a beat on a bass drum (from the loop pedal), then a rhythm guitar part is added. But when Tom stops playing, the drum and guitar part keep going.
Tom then steps up to the mic and adds hand claps or finger snaps, some cowbell and some shaker to begin to fill out the rhythm section. Backround vocals can be added at this point, as well as harmonica.
Lastly, a bass line is added, the rhythm section is complete, and we have acheived danceability!
This all happens when a song is layered from scratch, but a good number of songs are pre-looped and stored on the loop pedal to keep things moving.
Now imagine a reveler walking up to the stage to ask Tom a question mid-song (happens ALL the time). Imagine Tom fully engaging with them, while the rhythm section never misses a beat!
Tom Smith has been singing and playing guitar and bass on stages and in studios all across the USA for a long time.
A Knoxville, tennessee-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Tom struggled with band member availability problems and issues booking shows his entire career, until he honed his skills on the loop pedal.
Now, Tom can arrive at a show solo, set up the P. A. system and commence to layering percussion, guitar, bass, harmonica and vocals through the looper.
He can provide a full band sound on a 5' X 7' stage and at lower volumes than a full band could! And all while playing his face off on the same basic set list he always enjoyed playing.
If a 70s guitar vibe is what's called for, Lunchtime Tom is the man to call.
I need a minimum 5' X 7' stage.
I can provide my own PA System.
I have basic lighting if needed.
One small table is a "nice to have" but I can provide that as well.
