SF's homegrown North Beach Brass Band plays early New Orleans jazz, iconic show tunes, electrified funk and cool reworkings of classic pop songs. Led by SF brass man Ed Ivey, the band's features saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bass drum, snare drum and tuba, celebrating that Big Easy sound with straight-up brass band classics.
They were very good band that I can hire again. They are very flexible that they can able to do Mardi Gras
The band showed up in plenty of time to set and then played exactly what I was looking for. Super fun and toe tapping. Their energy and upbeat nature was positive and our friends loved it. Bravo

This wonderful band was so flexible and responsive and even helped in our planning by recommending the best spot for a pop-up band surprise on our wedding day. They are very experienced and friendly. Great value, too! Our guests loved the surprise and the great music. We even ended up having our first dance spontaneously right there on the sidewalk, inspired by their fabulous tunes, and by the end strangers had gathered and all our guests were dancing, too. It elevated our wedding celebration. Recommend 100%! 👌🏻

I hired North Beach Brass band for my wedding last fall. It was a challenging environment, on a boat, and it was raining! But they were able to wing it beautifully and made the day so special with their fantastic music. So fun and happy and upbeat. In fact friends hired them for a birthday party the following weekend they liked them so much. Ed was very responsive while we were planning, he always emailed or called back quickly. I would recommend them for any event that you want a fun, upbeat vibe!

John, The Meters

Louis Armstrong's favorites to danceable versions of great hits from
artists like James Brown, War, Hugh Masakela, The Meters, Jobim, Miles Davis and dozens more.
North Beach Brass Band is a self-contained unit traditionally composed of trumpet, trombone, saxophone, tuba and the traditional New Orleans two-man drum corps of bass drum and snare drum.
The band can play all-acoustic with no audio system or electricity needed or we can bring a complete audio system.
