Phil was a great warm up of things to come. And Glen had them holding their bellies and wiping tears from laughter. Great duo and will certainly be using them again..
Response from Phil Sweet:
Greg deserves a great deal of credit for the success of the evening. He was a warm and gracious host who put the comedians at ease and he provided a superb venue with all the elements required to provide the right atmosphere for a successful comedy performance i.e. excellent lighting, top rate sound system and seating arranged so that the audience was together as a group. Both Glen Jensen and I found it a pleasure to work with him.
Phil is very professional, sharp and witty and is guaranteed to be entertaining and funny!
It's rare these days to hire a comic that's clean and funny. Look no further than Phil Sweet.
Response from Phil Sweet:
I have worked with Bernie numerous times and each time it has been a pleasure. He is knowledgeable, buttoned up and unstoppable. When he says something is going to happen, you can take that to the bank. If you are looking for someone to book a show, he's your man.
Phil Sweet has been organizing and performing in our nonprofit agency comedy shows for 12 years. His professionalism and attention to detail is excellent.
It's clear that he cares about his work and takes the time to do it correctly.
Phil,
Thank you for your hard work. We appreciate all that you have done for Family Promise of Warren County.
Response from Phil Sweet:
Bob, thanks for the comments and for the opportunities to perform. Performing at the show all these years has obviously improved my comedy chops, but I think that producing the shows has also taught me a lot. It has given me an insight into what audiences like and don't like, information which I have incorporated into my routine.

……NAC <National Association of Comedians> had the opportunity to judge a comedy contest at the Prime Time Comedy Club in New Jersey. One of the contestants was a comedian named PHIL SWEET. His performance was unlike any that I have seen. When Phil first came onstage he was shaking badly. My first thought was , this guy is REALLY nervous. Phil went on to tell the audience that he suffers from Parkinson's disease. He incorporated his disease into his comedy act with great skill, timing and very creative material. Phil had the audience in his hands. The judges and the audience voted him the winner of the contest. .....

I wanted to pass along a recommendation relative to a local stand-up comic you may want to pursue. His name is Phil Sweet, and I very much enjoyed his performance at a recent 50th high school reunion event in Clarks Summit. I'm a long time Boston-based film/video producer …… I work all the time with big name talent in connection with the TV commercials I shoot as well as top notch talent related to a number of major network tv series, but I have to tell you I was more than a little entertained by Phil's stand-up routine.
........ focused on all manner of very current, topical, relatable issues touching on everything from the challenge (and advantages) of Parkinsons to Donald Trump. More to the point - it was genuinely funny, and I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions. Phil's delivery style is wry and laid-back, but his timing is excellent, and I think you would do well to give this guy a serious look.
Sincerely,

Phil Sweet retired in 2009 and started doing standup after he realized that his whole career was actually 35 years of comedy material. Phil’s shrewd commentary on the modern world gone wacky gives audiences lots to think about and even more to laugh about . Only he could explain what Viagra and the Federal Reserve have in common. He has performed from Virginia to Massachusetts at comedy festivals and clubs like Gotham, Broadway, Laugh Lounge and Eastville in NYC and Catch a Rising Star in NJ. Locally, he’s performed at Helium CC, SoulJoel’s ( Joel Richardson) in Royersford and Reactors CC (Chris Carrol). Along the way, he’s won several comedy contests including “Catch a New Rising Star", "Eastville's Next Headliner" and received a Broadway Comedy Development grant. He was a member of two Guinness Book of World Records teams which set records for the Longest Continuous Cabaret Show and Longest Continuous Cabaret on Zoom. Phil also produces comedy benefit shows where he has opened for Sherry Davey, Vanessa Hollingshead, Leighann Lord, Robin Fox and Jackie “the Joke Man” Martling among others. If you get a chance to see him , don’t miss it.
