Very accommodating with making our event special. Played a diverse selection of songs and was able to make adjustments as there was a weather delay. A skilled piper who provided an authentic experience tailored to our needs.

James was so accommodating and professional. He played before and after the funeral of my Scottish mother in law. His tartan uniform was lovely, he was early and stayed late. Highly recommend him!

James's communication style was timely, informative, and friendly. Booking the event and confirming the details was simple and easy. As for his performance, James was a huge hit! Those in attendance raved about the quality of the performance (James is clearly a highly accomplished musician), the song selection (he has a wide range of songs in his repertoire), and his amiable demeanour. I would book James for another event in the future, and I would highly recommend him to others!

James played his bagpipes at an outdoor school event and briefly shared about the Canadian history of his instrument as well, which added an extra layer of meaning for attendees. We are still hearing enthusiastic feedback about the outstanding calibre of his playing. He was reliable, pleasant and agreeable to work with, and we are grateful for his beautiful contribution to creating impact among our community.

I hired James to play amazing Grace at the funeral internment of my aunt and uncle. James did so and also played another a short distance away and it was beautiful and touching addition.

We held a family internment for my Mother who passed away at the age of 87. Although it was a small gathering, we wanted something that would make it special, and reflect our Ulster-Scots heritage. James's contribution was beautiful; he is an immensely talented piper whose playing conveyed dignity and emotional intensity. Everyone in my family was delighted by his performance and felt that his playing offered both consolation and hope. Other people in the cemetery spoke to me as I was leaving in order to praise James, and say how moved they were by his playing.
In the lead to our event, I was impressed by James's professionalism, his timeliness in communication, and his willingness to accommodate our requests. I give him the highest recommendation. On the day of the event, he was punctual, splendidly attired in a kilt, and stayed longer and played more than required.
Thank you James for your outstanding contribution as we bade our matriarch farewell!

James came through corn field playing "Amazing Grace" at my best friend's graveside, just after the procession had arrived, and the Pastor had quoted a line from "Brave Heart" ("They are saying good-bye in their own way, playing outlawed tunes on outlawed pipes").
It was one of her most Adamant last requests (being Scottish), as she was so very proud of her heritage. James ended the service with "Scotland the Brave", which everyone knew (Scottish or not!)
P.S. it was 40 degrees Celsius with humidity & he was sweating buckets in his full kilt/outfit, but James played on like a trooper!

James and his partner were right on time arriving, played almost continuously throughout the 1.5 hours, and did a masterful job. In the Scottish tradition. Thank you so much, lads. James Sawyer piped us in and out at my brother’s funeral at Lambton Kingsway United Church. His contribution to our ceremony through Amazing Grace and Scotland the Brave will be remembered forever.

Not only did the crowd appreciate James superb bagpiping abilities. They adored his friendly and outwardly interaction with them. James was the crown to a very important evening and made the evening special. On top of all that prior to the venue, I ran into difficulties with the restaurant owners.
James had suggestions for me that helped save the day, and also worked with me every step of the way. Thank you James!!

He showed up at the church on time and did his warm up in the car when there wasn't anywhere inside he could do it because there was already a mass going on. He also took the initiative to keep playing a bit longer when the priest was a bit slow to arrive at the back of the church. My family enjoyed his playing and he seemed like a good guy.

This person canceled before the event but provided a back up person to come play. Went off without a hitch.

James is an incredibly talented piper with a wide repetoire of music. He is warm-hearted and fun. A truly memorable event.
