Sarah Cabral was born in southern Brazil. This connection permeates her debut, self-titled album, which Cabral also produced. She draws on modern jazz, avant-garde, and classical influences to breathe new life into seemingly bygone eras of traditional and popular Brazilian music. A recent review by Helvécio Cardoso in Diário da Manha read that her music “unites the sophistication of the most exquisite taste and simplicity.”
Cabral studied at The California Jazz Conservatory with mentor Marcos Silva, and has collaborated with artists like Chico Pinheiro, Carlos Oliveira, Ricardo Peixoto, Fabiano Chagas, Scott Thompson, Wayne Wallace, The Danny Green Trio and the legendary Bororó Felipe.
