Shot of Scotch NYC is proudly comprised of premier competitive-level Scottish highland dancers. We are available for performances big or small, formal or casual and can tailor performance length, style, number of dancers, and costuming to your needs. Our repertoire includes all traditional highland dances as well as unique highland-inspired choreography! Many of our members are certified instructors as well.
Kilts swinging, with powerful leaps and heart-stopping sword dances, these remarkable dancers are a joy to watch and a delight to work with. I've seen them at weddings, parties, recitals, and in parades down Fifth Avenue and I never get tired of them. It seems you always find the best of everything in New York City and this group of experienced, skilled performers is no exception. I hope to work with them again soon.
Price Range: $125-$800
We are able to offer performances in duration of 5 minutes to 30 minutes, and can serve as background entertainment or the main focus, depending on your vision! We can also provide multiple performances throughout your event as needed.
A typical performance will consist of a set of dances, each 2-3 minutes in length, set to bagpipe music. Dancers will wear traditional highland garb or modern Scottish-influenced costumes, depending on the event and your preferences.
Shot of Scotch NYC was formed in 2011 as a performance group for experienced, premier-level competitive Scottish Highland dancers. We perform across the New York City area at parades, tattoos, highland games, and private events. We are available for performances big or small, formal or casual.
Our repertoire includes a wide range of traditional highland dances as well as highland-inspired choreography. We can even add a highland dance lesson and/or a live piper (depending on availability) to your performance! Several of our members are certified instructors.

We require a performance space of a minimum of 30 square feet (for 1 dancer) or more if hiring multiple dancers. It must be flat without large divots, holes, ridges, etc. We are unable to perform on grass or gravel. If we are asked to perform on outdoor concrete, we will wear black sneakers instead of traditional dance shoes and may remove more explosive movements from our performance for safety.
A sound system is required for large events and optional for smaller events as we can bring our own Bluetooth speaker. If you would like us to perform live with a bagpiper that you have hired separately, we must receive their contact information to coordinate at least 1 month prior to the performance. We cannot guarantee that we can perform with a bagpiper we have not recommended, as many bagpipers are not familiar with dance piping and tunes.
We also require a small private space for warmups and costume changes.
