Specializing in playing cocktail hours, private parties, and corporate events, we tastefully woo our darling audiences with a sound that is sophisticated, sweet, and glowing. Our rare wisdom and charm add a welcoming, loving sincerity to any atmosphere across a wide range of functions--though we especially LOVE playing exclusive, intimate events!

Since we are a duo, we are perfect for mingling and light conversation or a gathering of folks who are especially intrigued by listening to good music. The Pizza Bats do not necessarily provide background music: The Pizza Bats take your listeners to a special oasis in their minds.

Our repertoire has been carefully curated from some of the most powerful, treasured songs ever written with our performance styles modeled off of the most touching recordings ever captured. Tastefully tapped in to the bedrock of American song, we keep our lavish stock of tunes firmly rooted in the timeless standards of the early jazz and swing eras.

Our current rate is $125 US dollars per person per hour, with the promise of a testimonial. If you decide to opt out of the testimonial, please consider in this case that our hourly rate increases by %100. Any special song request is professionally arranged by The Pizza Bats, and a $50 fee is requested to cover this service as well as the rehearsal time necessary to learn this song with care. The Pizza Bats is the brainchild of musicians Jake Dester (alto saxophone) and Sydney McNulty (guitar and vocals). The group was created in the summer of 2015 in Chicago, Illinois, and relocated to Brooklyn, New York, in the spring of 2016.

Sydney comes from a singer-songwriter background, and Jake comes from a jazz background. The two decided to begin learning and performing covers of their favorite songs, created a YouTube channel to document the process, and had been gigging around Chicagoland until March of 2016 when they picked up and relocated to New York, where they are based at this time.

We require use of a PA for crowds over 100. If this isn't provided by the client, band will include rental fee in total cost of performance.

We do not provide our own lighting.

We require very minimal space to set up.
