The Silver Lining Serenaders: vintage jazz and Western swing
We love bringing our energy and passion for Swing, Western Swing and jazz from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s to private events and celebrations as well as clubs and concert halls. We are flexible and able to perform as a duo up to a five-piece either at the foreground of the event or as ambient background music for a cocktail hour, reception etc.
Our repertoire can be curated to fit the specific needs of your event, providing vintage jazz with many New Orleans standards, upbeat danceable swing and Western swing as well as fiddle, classic country, jugband and bluegrass tunes.
They were hired to play a private event for a food tour I was hosting. They brought amazing energy and even came with food-themed songs to play. Was a highlight of our trip. Cannot recommend enough!

We could not have been more delighted with Sliver Lining Serenaders for our event. We hired them to play during a reception at our conference in December 2023 and they were an instant hit. Many of our guests pulled me aside to tell me how wonderful the group was, how having them there added a touch of class to our event, and asked me for their information.
Their music is truly wonderful. Ella has a once in a generation voice with timbre that brings you right back to the golden days of jazz. The band backs her up tastefully, balanced, and can certainly showcase themselves during solos. The selection was full of known standards that got folks moving to lesser known period pieces that perked the ears of all in the room. Their musicianship is exemplary, enjoyable, and down right fun.
Interacting with the band in the planning stage was also a delight. They were highly responsive, proactive, and organized. We worked out the details quickly, touched base once or twice in the days and weeks to come, and then texted day off. Each interaction was kind and productive. Once they arrived, we touched based on placement and volume details (they were sensitive and responsive to the space, event, and group needs) and then got to work.
I cannot recommend Silver Lining Serenaders more. And if I ever need a band for any event, professional or personal, and I'm in the area, you can bet I'm calling them back.

Having FIRST heard this band when they were on tour in Spain, I was overjoyed when they connected with me wanting to book a gig in my hometown Albuquerque, New Mexico. I run a weekly swing dance and the Silver Lining Serenaders have kept us swinging on more than one occasion! This band is not only made of the sweetest souls, but they also adapt to their audience. They provide a variety of tempos and their own beautiful artistic styling to jazz standards. We are available to be hired as a duo of Guitar/Vocals, Violin/Vocals, or up to a five-piece band of (clarinet, upright bass, trumpet, drums) or for solo classical violin events as well.
If amplification is requested, we will require 30-45 minutes for setup and sound check (we can provide our own sound equipment)
We have experience playing many types of events including:
-Swing dance band
-Ambient dinner/cocktail hour music
-Accompaniment for more structured events such as weddings and other celebrations.
-Concert in a sit-down listening room style environment
We can fit a dress code of polished casual to formal.
We have an album available as a quartet that we can provide for sale on CD and well as a digital download.
The Silver Lining Serenaders are a fun-loving group specializing in vintage jazz and swing as well as Western swing and classic country and old jug band music. Bringing harmonies and fresh arrangements to well-known and more obscure tunes from the first half of the 20th century.
We play a varied repertoire and can curate it to match the feel and mood of the event. We can deliver a show in a swinging Django Jazz/Gypsy Jazz style with vocals inspired by singers such as Billie Holiday, Madeleine Peyroux and Ella Fitzgerald with some song selections in Spanish and French. We are also able to cultivate a more folk-inspired environment providing tunes in the styles of Western swing, fiddle waltzes and 1940’s country as well as some jugband tunes and old rags.
*we are also able to perform purely instrumental without vocals, if requested for a more background/ambient event environment.
We can provide our own PA/sound equipment, if needed.
This equipment can be made available for additional use at your event for a fee (ie. MC, speeches etc.)
Here’s an example of some of the tunes we do to get a feel for our style as far as jazz swing and western swing is concerned, but we have many many more up our sleeves as well as a large repertory of classical music. We are also able to take requests of jazz/swing standards or learn specific material for your event, just let us know!
