Looking to have some lively, swinging jazz for your dance hall fundraiser? Or perhaps some ambient slow, sensitive Brazilian bossa nova for your cocktail event? Or maybe some groovy, toe-tapping funk for your birthday party? For any event, Telesmar and his group will provide the perfect live music to capture the mood.
Telesmar Sanchez has had over 10 years of professional performance experience in a wide variety of styles including jazz, funk, pop, afro-Cuban, and Brazilian music. He and his group will work with you to set exactly the atmosphere you're looking for.
The duo was early and prepared. They did a great job performing. Very friendly and professional.
Excellent performance and professional engagement. Highly recommend.
This group was perfect for our event! They are very easy to work with, quick with responses and extremely friendly and professional. Everyone enjoyed their music and presence. This is a group I will definitely have return to our community.
This group is absolutely amazing. They arrived punctually and set up their equipment very professionally. Their music was perfect for our company venue. If the opportunity arises, we will definitely have them return.
Teles and his band played at my birthday party, and they were an absolute delight and hit with the family and friends. Teles is exceedingly professional and an extraordinary, sensitive musician. His band provided a great atmosphere for partygoers and entertainment for those who chose to listen with intention.
Telesmar's performance was perfect for our client appreciation event. He's a consummate musician, his manner is so mature and professional, his presentation is polished, and the jazz added such richness to the atmosphere at our event. Highly recommended.

If you'd like to hire my group, we can first discuss what instrumentation and music you're looking for to best fit your event. Instrumentation is flexible, so if you'd like to go drummer-less for a softer sound, or perhaps include a horn or vocalist, that and more can all be arranged. We'll settle on a rate based on the number of musicians needed, the length of the performance, and other details.
Next, we will coordinate a performance schedule with you in advance that includes load-in time, set lengths, breaks, and other logistics. We will then show up on-time with all necessary equipment, adhering to whatever dress code you'd like, and play. We generally specialize in swinging, classic jazz standards, but also play funk, bossa-nova, and other styles. We can play some of all of that during our performance, or stick to just one style. Just let us know what you're looking for!
Telesmar Sanchez is a Los Angeles-based jazz guitarist, composer, and music educator. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar performance at University of Texas at Austin. Soon after, Telesmar moved to Los Angeles where he is currently pursuing an MFA in jazz guitar studies at CalArts where he is studying guitar under LA jazz guitar legend Larry Koonse.
During his time in Austin, Telesmar performed and collaborated with many of Austin’s finest jazz musicians including Andre Hayward, Gene Centeno, Matthew Maldonado, James Suter, Ryan Hagler, Daniel Sanchez, Christian Wiggs, and Cameron Riggs at various music venues in the Austin area including the Elephant Room and Monk’s Jazz Club. In 2021, Telesmar completed his debut recording project as a bandleader and composer, a suite of original music entitled Cosmic Music inspired by Italo Calvino’s short story collection Cosmicomics, currently available on all streaming platforms. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2022, Telesmar has performed with various Los Angeles-based jazz musicians including Wes Nelson, Sean Lynch, June Higgins, Kira Markman, and Eilish Wilson.
Depending on instrumentation, we will need a good amount of space for ourselves, our instruments, and equipment for our performance. For a standard jazz guitar trio of guitar, upright bass, and drumset, we will need 8' x 8' of room. The only other thing we will need from you is access to electricity to power my guitar amplifier, a bass amplifier, and potentially a vocal PA if you'd like us to play with a singer. We will bring power strips so a single outlet is enough.
