Original Bluegrass/Country Band from Golden, CO! Great list of covers for wedding receptions as well!
They released their debut album Holler Out in 2015 and have since been touring and introducing their music to fans all over the United States. They will be releasing the Run With You EP in the summer of 2016.
Originally started in 2013 as the duet of Erinn Peet-Lukes (Guitar) and Pete Weber (Mandolin), the band now includes two Wisconsin natives, Ian Haegele (Bass) and Rachel Reichert (Fiddle). With the use of bluegrass instruments and Erinn's powerful vocals, the band has captured a sound that accentuates their talents and is accessible to fans both young and old.
We hired them for our wedding. The venue only allowed acoustic music and this band was perfect for it! Pete worked with us on our budget and was very responsive throughout. We told them we wanted them to play Sade as our first dance and they did it! They also figured out how to play Canon D as I walked down the isle which was a life long dream of mine! Thank you so very much for helping make our day so special!
Thank you for your wonderful talent and spirit! We appreciate your professionalism and enthusiasm. It was a pleasure working with you!
-My Big Day Events
I can't say enough nice things about Thunder & Rain! They were the absolute perfect band for our wedding venue at River Bend in Lyons, CO which required us to have "unplugged" or acoustic music only. Lucky for us, Thunder & Rain were happy to accommodate and the acoustic requirement even helped keep the cost down and affordable.
Pete was very easy to communicate with in the planning stages and they were flexible with our timeline for the day. They even let us request 2 specific songs to customize our first dances to and they sounded gorgeous.
We had many guests make compliments about how much they enjoyed the music and how they seemed to fit the venue and feel of our day perfectly. The band even took requests from our friends around the campfire as the event was winding down at the end of the night. I only wish I, as the bride, wouldn't have been so busy so that I could have heard ALL of the songs!
I absolutely recommend hiring Thunder & Rain for your wedding or event, they were fabulous!! Thank you Thunder & Rain for being so wonderful and helping make our wedding day an absolute dream!!
We had a wedding of 20 people at Brush Creek Ranch, at a small compound about 5 miles away from the main ranch. Due to the intimacy of the wedding, we decided to go with Thunder and Rain for the entire wedding (ceremony/cocktail/reception) and we were more than thrilled with the results.
They played their own versions of our wedding songs and they honestly fit better than the originals (Just Breath, Forever Young, Send me on my Way). The band was incredibly professional and easy going. Their instrumentals and vocals were were beyond impressive and honestly sounded better than their album. They mixed in karaoke if people felt the urge to sing and knew an impressive amount of rock, country, and pop cover songs (though their originals were the most incredible to hear live). The band adjusted extremely well to the changes in setting (they played on a lookout deck for the ceremony/cocktails, inside a small lodge, around the dinner table, and ended the night by the fire). They even stayed a little longer to hang out by the fire and continue to play by demand.
Everyone from our wedding continues to tell how great the band was though almost no one was a huge blue grass follower. Not only did would they fit perfectly for an intimate ranch wedding, I would suggest anyone to see them play no matter where. We cannot thank them enough.
