I had been planning a special evening to celebrate 6 months together with my girlfriend for at least one of those months - a VIP chef’s experience at one of our favorite little Bistros in Pasadena - but I wanted to do more than just take my girl to a nice dinner. After a good deal of searching without success, I decided to try GigSalad. I received a number of quotes from different performers, but from the moment I read Tara’s I knew she was the right one. It wasn’t just business with her. She genuinely wanted to help me make this the special evening I had envisioned - and that she did!

She arrived early and began playing right on time. Just as she promised, she provided a perfect romantic atmosphere and blended into the background. We never once felt like we weren’t able to talk or enjoy our time together because Tara was there. I admit, I had no idea how this idea of mine would go, but it was just magical. Not to mention that the other patrons clearly enjoyed the music as well!

Tara is at the same time a genuinely kind and good natured person and an excellent musician. Being a musician myself, I unfortunately hear every wrong note of a performance - and there were none. Tara played a selection of classical works - each one executed flawlessly and with feeling befitting the occasion. And here’s what stood out to me perhaps the most - my girlfriend remarked after she left that she seems like someone she would actually like to hang out with. I had my concerns about involving another woman in this evening. With the wrong personality, it could have made her feel uncomfortable or awkward, but it wasn’t. I think the fact that we were able to have a very romantic evening and still feel a connection with Tara speaks volumes of her professionalism and good nature.

I would most certainly recommend Tara for any event requiring a cellist. I just can’t imagine having anyone better. And I will definitely be calling on her again for future events :)

Tara was booked at the last minute for a fundraiser with 150 guests, after our initially hired musician flaked out on us. We were in a bind but Tara not only came through and was generous enough to support our cause (domestic violence against women) but she also was extremely professional, arrived on time, created a lovely ambiance for our guests and helped make our event a success! I have learned you do take chances when you hire entertainers here, but Tara is one you can rely upon! The cello is such a romantic instrument and Tara is an graceful musician and plays beautifully.. If you aren't familiar with the cello is sounds like a elegant violin. I will definitely hire her again!
