I sing a variety of easy listening songs, mostly slower, relaxing tunes. Carole King, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Simon and Garfunkel, Dan Fogelberg, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, etc. If I don't know it I can probably learn it!
I have a casual style with near perfect pitch. I am comfortable doing "background" music, or "concerts", whichever the event demands. After raising 5 kids I now have time for some gigging!
I wasn't born singing, but I started as soon as I could talk. I started playing guitar In the fifth grade and spent my elementary and high school years playing for school events. I sang in choirs and singing groups in college, playing solo gigs in coffee houses and leading worship for years. Mostly I have done a lot of front porch singing, weddings, nursing homes etc. I recorded two albums, one in Nashville in the eighties, a solo album with a Ricky Skaggs joining on one song. Later I recorded a Christmas Album "Christmas Memories". Love to sing! I am comfortable in small settings or singing for thousands. Largest crowd: 23,700 folks at a Hornets game (The National Anthem)
I started guitar lessons in the fifth grade. I studied jazz guitar in college, but it is not my strong suit.
I play a 1980 Martin guitar and do alot of finger picking.
I studied voice in college for a couple of years. Preferring not to study opera they let me off with French
Art songs. I have had little formal training but lots of experience.
